And I should mention just to make it clear that my task was not to design a new infographic from scratch, but to recreate the existing figure showing future biodiversity loss scenarios seen here: www.financeforbiodiversity.org/wp-content/u...
Only with Finnish fauna and flora and different colors

You can see silhouettes of the Saimaa ringed seal, flying squirrel, lynx, bear, wolverine, whooper swan, fox, and other animals, as well as pines, spruces, and some broadleaf trees, such as birch, linden tree, and maple tree. #biology #Ecology #GraphicDesigner #freelancer

The requirements were to show Finnish fauna and flora and use the colors of the Finnish Nature Panel brand used in the illustration. They kindly provided some of the animal silhouettes, which made my job easier, and this figure - more consistent with their brand identity. #SciComm #illustration

I truly appreciate jobs like this! Helping to visualize important topics about the future of the natural world. A figure showing Future biodiversity loss scenarios in Finland was commissioned by the Finnish Nature Panel (@luontopaneeli.fi‬) in 2023

For comparison, the first dinosaurs appeared around 233 million years ago, and the first birds - about 150 million years ago (BTW birds are the only group of dinosaurs to survive the extinction 66 million years ago). #Triopsidae #LepidurusApus #Drawing

Why are tadpole shrimps called living fossils?
Fascinatingly, the oldest tadpole shrimp fossils are approximately 360 million years old, and their appearance has remained relatively unchanged over the past 250 million years.

My drawing of a "living fossil" tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus apus) for the Daugavpils Bat Centre in Daugavpils, Latvia. These crustaceans are occasionally found in the moats of Daugavpils Fortress. A rare sight, as they appear only in the spring if there is flooding that year. #SciComm #illustration

My photos were published in Arterritory.com arterritory.com/lv/vizuala_m... At the moment @glokalizacija.bsky.social is the only one of all of the workshop participants with whom I am connected here

My job was to help organize suitable spaces for the forkshop, introducing participants to the nature (and guiding them through the “jungle” of less-visited corners) and deep dive into the history of the fortress, and of course - documenting the event, so here are some photos

Project provided platform for design researchers to engage with local communities and try to rethink the urban environment and sustainable future, focusing on more-than-human spaces in Daugavpils Fortress and the city

June 30 – July 4, 2025, I participated in organising and documenting the “Ecologies of Trust” summer school in Daugavpils led by four researchers: curator and architect Kaisa Karvinen, artist Jaakko Karhunen, designer Tommi Vasko, and anthropologist Mari Vaara.

Events like this require a lot of organising effort, a lot of stressful work, so I want to share photos of the team that made the conference happen

The last day's program included three outdoor trips into the nature. I went with the group to the Hyppäänvuori natire trail with impressive landscapes and massive, old pine tree

I was officiall photographer for Oikos Finland 2025 Conference! Four day full-time photoshoot.
My fingers hurt from holding camera, but it was so much fun! Thanks to the organisers of @oikosfinland.bsky.social for choosing me as a photographer, especially to @pauliarancibia.bsky.social!
