and yeah absolutely, after a certain point it becomes therapy which your friends/peers/whoever definitely should not be expected to perform. plus your brain moves the goalpost constantly and it’s not sustainable

it’s so important to invest in having a healthy relationship with your art + self image and in finding spaces where it’s okay to vent when you’re frustrated or lack confidence

building your entire outward image on how much you hate your work is going to make everyone miserable and it’s not worth it

i’ve had to cut off relationships with people for this because of how unhealthy all of our interactions became. and any time i’ve tried to tell them you’re hurting me and you’re hurting yourself, the response was more self deprecation
