There are voluntary programs for kids like the Youth Support Service that work incredibly well but are chronically underfunded. But there is always money for things like ankle monitors and personal truancy officers. ysas.org.au/news/state-g...

There is zero evidence writers festivals or arts events are linked to these attacks (obviously they are not?). For the SMH to just broadcast this specific, baseless allegation without even saying “by the way, police have no evidence to support these incendiary claims” is extremely poor.
