Omg intros 👀 hi #writersky I'm Mariya, a 24 y/o writer based in Toronto!

I centre family, hope, and revolution in my work and I've dabbled in poetry and short stories (read em in my bio!). This year I'm working on my first novel, a Mughal-inspired fantasy blending politics, adventure, and dragons!
Nasser Hussain's work is super fun omg #poetrysky

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

So my husband can drop all the Pokémon evolutions at any given moment, but EYE talk about the Wild Hunt inspired post-apocalyptic Western novella and I'm the weird one got it 👍

Started reading Artemis by Andy Weir (whose other books I've loved)

Icks so far:
- clear case of FMC-written-by-a-man-itis
- FMC casually throws out that she's apparently from Saudi, surely this won't come back to haunt us later
- how many times can you tell us how glass is made

My apologies for calling baseball boring, it's actually the best sport to play in the background while you read
