Broken down old guy
@mark-59.bsky.social
Old guy from MN. May 2nd 2025 was my last day of work, I’m now officially retired. Hobbies include hiking, kayaking, fishing and gardening.
Here’s a nice way to get your coffee and #cannabis morning routine off to a tasty start. It’s got about 125mg caffeine and 10mg delta-9 THC per can (two servings per can) so I’ve got a nice pleasant outlook this morning. I guess I’ll enjoy these for the next year until they become illegal again.

And here they are all grown up. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Well, first snow storm of the year is in the books, it wasn’t too bad and we didn’t get too much snow. It was the wet sticky kind that often takes down power lines and tree branches, but there wasn’t that much of it. It’ll be interesting to see how winter turns out this year.

Saw a flock of Trumpeter swans on the lake today. Pretty cool to see, I don’t usually see this many in one place. Must be migration time.

You don’t see this every day, a pretty cool aurora borealis display right in my own backyard.

I thought this was pretty cool, a friend of mine set up a stop for trick or treaters that didn’t have a candy bar in sight. She said that the potatoes were among the first to go, and the Ramen noodles were a big hit amongst the teenage crowd.

And yet another one that is supposed to be good for your brain. Lions mane mushroom. (I think). I didn’t want to try this one either, my dog already thinks I’m smart enough.

I was a bit surprised by how many people turned out, the protest was supposed to be from Noon to 2:00, but there were already thousands of people who showed up at 11:00am, and it only got bigger from there

Hey Mikey, we don’t hate America, we just hate the orange imbecile who is trying to destroy it.

I’ve had orange carrots and yellow carrots but this is the first time I’ve seen bicolored carrots. They tasted like carrots.

Look what they’re now selling at Target. THC sodas, I decided to buy some and chose this one, it wasn’t bad but I liked the taste of the Looner brand instead. This one tasted fine but was also 0 calories. (It could’ve used a little sugar)

I do like growing my own vegetables, they have so much more character than the ones from the grocery stores.

May I please have my first amendment back?

Does it count if you can’t actually see the sun? Clouds aren’t cooperating this evening #sunset over Oak Lake.

It’s that time of the year again. ‘Carrot Weirdness’ .

Chopped her up into little pieces today. Ended up with a little over 4 1/2 oz. Which should be more than enough for me until the next harvest.

I thought this looked pretty cool, I really like the colors. This is “chicken of the woods “ supposedly a real delicacy. It’s too bad that I’m too “chicken shit of the fungus” to give it a try.

Well, I cut her down today. RIP OG Kush - 5/14/25-8/15/25. I hope she’s yummy.

I don’t know what I like more, growing flowers or watching the insects that are attracted to them. Here’s a patch of brown-eyed Susan’s that are just loaded with Goldenrod Soldier beetles (Chauliognathus pensylvanicus) today.

Fan leaves are fading, getting ready to harvest pretty soon. This is my first time growing OG Kush, it’s been a pretty easy plant so far.

Notice the difference between the wild hemp leaves and flower buds and the leaves and buds of the OG Kush that I’m growing indoors.

The plants are currently about 12 feet tall. Which I find amazing because they are only about two to three months old. There were originally 6 plants in this group, but I removed 3 of them so they wouldn’t crowd the flowers too much.

These are feral Hemp plants that grow wild in my area. This suburb was farmland back in the 40’s and you can find wild Hemp growing in lots of places all over town.

I thought this was interesting. I’ve been growing my own cannabis indoors for the past two years. (It became legal in my state on 8/1/23 so happy 2 year anniversary). But this I did NOT plant, they came up as volunteers so I just let them grow to see what would happen.
