I'm sure I remember something about AN 874-MILE SNOW BOMB TO BLANKET BRITAIN AND ONLY ONE PLACE WILL BE SPARED!

I still think that a consistent right-wing press should be castigating people for leaving this great country to go and spend their money on foreigners, and yet somehow they don't.
January 5, 2025 at 2:28 PM
Basically, a small proportion of all people are awful and it doesn't matter what country you're from or what colour you are. However, data like this will only lead the racists to claim that of course the numbers are lower for Pakistanis etc because the two-tier system isn't arresting them.

Absolutely anyone who uses the word "import" when talking about immigration needs to be shut in a room and not let out for a few years.

So Lord Bamford hasn't run away? I take it all back, apart from my comments about how you're supporting tax evasion.
January 4, 2025 at 10:51 PM
OK, in case you're right, I certainly didn't run away because someone told me I might owe £500 million, instead of staying around to find out whether I do and to make sure I pay what I owe.
January 4, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Fear of racists and stupid people, that is the only reason.
January 4, 2025 at 10:38 PM
I certainly didn't fail to pay £500 million that I owed, which is the actual point here.
January 4, 2025 at 10:37 PM
It could be seen as supporting tax evaders, too.
January 4, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Sadly, I think we're also in a world in which "if you want Reform as the next government, join the single market", because I fundamentally believe too many people are really stupid.

It's only now dawned on me why he chose that name. I'm so dim.
January 4, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Are there really people who destitute themselves to pay private school fees?
January 4, 2025 at 6:31 PM
In that case... if she could take a couple of billion off him for some good causes that would be pretty good.
January 3, 2025 at 6:48 PM
I can live with that.

Except that Musk can make up that someone is a paedophile and get away with it. His money makes him untouchable.
January 3, 2025 at 4:48 PM
I made the mistake, again, of causing the algorithm to show me politics more than I can stand, so I've had to add a load of related words to my mute list. It means if "he" has a terrible accident or another such momentous thing happens i won't see it, but anything important I'll find out some way.

It is very lucky that we haven't (in the majority) gone down the road of antivax, although I do see a lot of them on Facebook.
January 3, 2025 at 7:54 AM
It is just so terribly sad that there are people in the world who think a) that an HPV vaccine encourages promiscuity, and b) that risk of death is better than that.

To go into the office at least 1 day a week so I can get some in-person human interaction and move around more.
January 2, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Thanks, though I gather that it's probably not the kind of book one really "enjoys", but I can tell it will be a worthwhile journey.

I knew Italians were talented, but this is amazing.
January 2, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Keep it so that when it is all over, you can look back and say, thank goodness it turned out OK in the end. Or, you can burn it to keep warm in the nuclear winter.
January 2, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Given that so many tyrants meet a bad end, you'd think new wannabe tyrants coming along would consider this carefully.
