The other day I heard something from a student that I especially love to hear: "I'd memorized this definition years ago, but now I finally understand why it is the way it is!".

I originally got into math because I like shapes and patterns. Not much has changed in that regard. I said this out loud for the first time recently and it felt a bit silly but also kinda liberating.
