Every time I go back to the US, I'm struck by just how much more STUFF there is. Why does Publix have 200 varieties of breakfast cereal now? Why do I pass four Home Depots during a 15 minute drive through suburban sprawl? Why does everyone have a Christmas garage door wrap? It's too much.

The NBA League Pass app on Apple TV suck ass for the first two months of every season. I don't understand how or why so many bugs get introduced during the offseason. Currently watching Cavs/Bucks in 260p like it's 2005.

I guess this is a signal I'm working on the right thing (an AI career coach / journalling tool): I spent hours this morning making the logo at the top of the page change color based on the sky at that time of day, but didn't bother reading the journal prompt for today.

Is this a new Apple dark pattern? On Mac OS 26, I've got a persistent badge saying "1 update" on the System Settings menu item, but there is no update, it's just an ad to subscribe to AppleCare+ on my new phone. Kind of lame!

Finally got all the way through Infinite Jest this summer (at least five tries since 1996), and it's shocking how prescient DFW was. The loneliness, the addiction, even "The Entertainment", it all feels just SO 2025. Glad I saved it for nearly 30 years.

At the end of the ZIRP era, I reached a point where I felt most corporate DEI initiatives had become a little too performative without any real impact. But after seeing how some leaders are acting now that there's been a "correction", I say fuck it. Bring on Woke 2.0.

Every time I see this cartoon I chuckle nervously, because my appendix scar is on the left. ChatGPT says that's actually pretty normal though so I'm sure it's fine.
I can’t wait until we try to replace doctors with AI.
