Science and Innovation which drives the largest economy on the planet is supported by the Federal grants and funding programs than Presdent Trump has just shut down. In a few months he could destroy an innovation economy that has taken 80 years to build.

In the late 1970s I worked on the Dumand project (Deep Underwater Muon and Neutrino Detector). We explored using acoustic detection of cosmic neutrino collisions in deep sea water. The physics motivations (besides high energy particle physics) was x-raying the earth with neutrinos.
