Insurance person, partner, and doggy dad. Here to see if the grass is greener on this side of the fence.

Will be mostly talking about films, food, and underperforming sports teams.
As someone who owned the G1 Soundwave as their first Transformers figure, this appeals. Quite a lot, in fact.

The wait is over... here’s how our 2025/26 Premier League season shapes up 🗓️

Surely not?!

Thomas Frank it is then. Nice to see Justin Cochrane agree to come back, too. Looking forward to seeing what they can do with these players and perhaps two or three quality additions.

Got my new toy out this afternoon. Not a bad first effort 🍕

The supporters made it clear at the parade and at the final game of the season what the priority is - trophies. That and the obvious unity the manager had with the players was enough to have me believe he had earned another year. Going to be a mutiny in that dressing room now.

Well. The crazy bastard has only gone and done it. "Following a review of performances." Not sure what to say tbh. Thank you, Ange. You deserve better than this.

28) Sinners. A layered original story is something to cherish these days, and while it could trim a little fat here and there, this is Coogler cementing himself as one of the industry's most exciting filmmakers. The jaw-dropping Club Juke dance scene is worthy of admission alone. Loved it. 8/10

Still no sign of tickets going on sale for Jurassic, Superman, or F4...

27) Warfare. At times, a literal assault on the senses, this is a painstaking, unrelenting depiction and as immersive a war movie as you're likely to find. Whether the narrow lens approach works is debatable, but it certainly doesn't lack impact. 7/10

One of the must-see movies of the year. Sincerely hope Netflix will give it a big-screen run.

26) The Amateur. While pleasingly old-school, it comes with the limitations and shortcomings this kind of thriller is often saddled with. Sadly, neither the material nor a curiously cast Malek can elevate things. 5/10

New issue alert. Cinemagoing in July is going to be BIG.

25) Death of a Unicorn. Far too uneven to be consistently enjoyed, this just throws too much at the wall, diluting all the good stuff. Wanted to like it, but just couldn't. 4/10

Read the books (I mean, who hasn't!), and this looks fine, I just hope the bells and whistles casting doesn't detract from the characterisation. Hope Netflix are willing to give it a cinematic run, too.

Dining Wheel #1 - The Poachers Gastropub. Specialising in Indian dishes, but with plenty of alternative options, this was a very pleasing first spin outcome and worthy of a visit for their naan bread alone. Only a couple of miles from home, too.

Loaded 50 local dining establishments into a random name generator with a view to eating out more often and hopefully doing our bit to support the industry. There are some guilty pleasures, some chains, some always wanted to try, but never had the chance, and some recommendations. Should be fun🍴

24) Drop. Nothing wrong with the premise, but the execution falls short in too many areas to carry it through. And the ending is just horrible. 5/10

A bit of breakfast before the (final?) Mission. Bank holi-yay.

Can't say I'm disappointed to see the back of that league season. 22 defeats and 38 points is clearly unacceptable, and I'm torn on whether winning the EL is enough for Ange to get a third year because of it.
May 25, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Ange has (rightly or wrongly) had a lot thrown at him this season, but you cannot deny the bond he has with those players. Wonderful to see that last night. Whatever happens next, they'll always have Bilbao.

The cherry on top of the most ridiculous season imaginable. But, I'll take it 🏆

Theme park thoughts - Thorpe Park. A quiet day. Operations and reliability pretty good, even if we lost 30 minutes or so to a thunderstorm. Enjoyed Hyperia, but Icon is much better. The Swarm remains my favourite ride in the park.
