I FOIA'd STAPS a few years ago (this system goes back to 1980). They sent me PDFs from the system. Most are born-digital, some need to be OCR'd. I started working on scripts to process the data, but never finished. The PDFs are on Internet Archive archive.org/details/loca...

A lot of these are solvable problems, though. Isn't the goal of having self-driving, electric cars so that cars are safer, less polluting, and so we can avoid waste (e.g., moving from a capex model where you buy a car and it sits for 90% of the time to an opex model with fewer, but on-demand cars)?

The challenge I have with this essay is that it doesn't address why the suburbs have moved left, and why Republicans struggle to bring out voters outside of Presidential elections.
