Die Küstenwache untersteht nicht als eine Organisation einem Ministerium. Vielmehr wird die Zusammenarbeit einer Vielzahl an unterschiedlicher Ministerien unterstellter Behörden durch den Koordinierungsverbund Küstenwache gesteuert.

I guess 🇷🇺 trusts in our wish to avoid war at all costs - a weakness in their eyes. So they take step by step to test & push our red lines. An unexpected large step like a blockade might risk war, while a determined & robust answer they anticipate might be enough to limit 🇷🇺 probing.

I agree, the full blockade would be madness. Of cause there a smaller steps to be taken first. Like Finland did. To show determination and force 🇷🇺 to decide how far they are willing to go. Let‘s hope they can still be deterred.

Russia cannot afford to lose its shadow fleet so we do not dare to threaten it or limit its operation. But then again they start to use exactly these precious tankers for attacks. How far to go with self-deterrence?

Are attacks on critical infrastructure by malignant state actors subject of maritime law? Would self-defense according to UN Charta violate the law?

While some of these desasters might have been culpable negligence, in the case of MH17 the 🇳🇱 court ruled it was murder in 298 cases. The decision was confirmed by the ECHR finding that Russia was responsible - not just its agents.

The decision of the Den Haag district court was confirmed by the ECHR which ruled that Russia is to be held accountable for the murder.

„Stabilisierend“ war wohl die militärische Übermacht, verliehen durch Hisbollah und Russen. Kaum fielen beide diese Akteure geschwächt aus, war es augenblicklich um das Regime geschehen.

Es geht auch um ungesetzliche Finanzierung des Wahlkampfs aus dem Ausland.

Chances are that Scholz and Lindner won’t be around anymore after the February elections. And I have not given up hope yet to see a more robust national security policy with the next government.
