The two best-known modern Tarot decks were both painted by women. Lady Frieda Harris created the Thoth deck for Aleister Crowley, the notorious occultist once dubbed 'the wickedest man in the world' by the British press.

Pamela Colman Smith designed and painted the most famous modern Tarot deck, the Ryder-Waite, as it's known. You can tell from the title she never gets the credit she deserves.
