Seperate but equal would be more enlightened than this. This is some antebellum Dred Scot shit and until lawyers start framing things in those terms I think they will conrinue to operate without shame or fear for their legacy.

The media *should* report more on homicide. This is preventable death. This is the leading killer of *children*. Gun violence is beating auto accidents for deaths now in our country. We should absolutely prioritize discussion of preventable death in you g people over inevitable mortality!

Ok. Trauma surgeon here. This is deceptive and I think you need to reconsider this data visualization.

The relevant questions are preventable deaths and years of life lost.

Mortality is 100%. We can choose, between cancer, heart disease whatever at 80-90 yo. But homicide kills kids.

She’s no dummy. She knows scrutiny of exactly this kind of shit is what will turn opinion and opinion is what will turn governments. Her efforts are lost if people lie and discredit her.

We should only listen to her report of the event.

What you need with disinformation is to give people permission to continue to deny what is undeniable. As long as they can say it’s exaggerated, it’s made up, etc., people can justify doing nothing. Information warfare at this point is the front line. Hence Thunbergs well-announced flotilla.

Now, how do you get to prevent your attitude becoming the dominant one? I think we all agree there needs to be a major shift in world opinion to force the governments funding the genocide to stop. How do you prevent that? Information warfare.

If I were an evil information warfare specialist, I would seek to undermine “everything becomes credible” by creating a massive public outrage, maybe involving an international celebrity, get everyone to focus on it then definitively proving it untrue.

I think it’s pretty rich that they would be so stupid as to beat someone with that much attention and scrutiny and ritually humiliate her by “kissing a flag”. That would be comically inept. The reporting is already shift to “she was made to hold a (unspecified) flag.”

Discipline in information warfare is more important than your brief feeling of moral superiority for being right “first”. I would rather be patieny, disciplined, and right more frequently, if later than the first hour of reporting.

This has even been done in our country, remember when GWB was running and the big story was he was AWOL from his national guard post during vietnam? Then a fabricated document seeming to confirm the story? Then uncovering it’s a fraud and poof! Karl Rove buries the true AWOL claim.

So we don’t become susceptible to active measures. Because one day the story will be a plant, and it will outrage everybody, and then shown to be fraud and they’ll say “look at how they lie about us, making little girls kiss flags and genocides.”

It’s being reported by the Guardian now that other have claimed she was made to “hold” a (unnamed) flag as well as the translation of this post. The flag kissing claim remains apocryphal.

Still gonna wait for her word. Patience.

As should we. All I’m saying. Wait a day. Not saying it’s impossible. Just saying no one here can honestly tell me they know exactly who these people are and what they’re saying before they become seething mad and ready to chew the furniture. Don’t get manipulated like that.
