I bought that @mangiotto.bsky.social book immediately years ago and inhaled it in 24 hours. Got Walter to sign it in September 2021 at an NYC Miracle Mile screening. You guys are my favorite film writers BY FAR.

I have to for awards season, but dreading seeing this because I’m sure you’re on target. About to see my 12th Shakespeare stage adaptation for 2025, so people assume I’m looking forward to this film. Umm…no.

Badge of honor, my friend.

Walter would be proud of him, Bill!

This film was one of the key factors in me beginning a relationship with a beautiful, artistic women in the 1980s. She couldn’t believe that a “jock-looking” guy like me loved & appreciated this film. And young people in love are seldom hungry!!! 😁

Sweet! I love it so much. I’ll upgrade my DVD copy eventually, but I picked up the A History of Violence Criterion this weekend at the B&N half off sale. EWS was calling to me from another shelf though!

It’s aging well. Thanks for sharing, Bill. Just revisited The Shrouds & Crimes of the Future this week. Of course I labeled those masterworks instantly. Maps had to breathe a little bit over time.

Saw her Off-Broadway in 1983 in Little Shop of Horrors. I was 17. I’ve adored her ever since. Happy for you, Walter!

Holy freaking cow. And it was right at reading this that I recalled that Safdie was one of the stars of Licorice Pizza…🤦‍♂️

You a burden? I find that unfathomable. Can‘t see myself being wrong on this. You’re worth a heckuva lot, Walter.

She was enthralling. 😢

Me too! Always thought of Milagro as fascinating, but flawed. Maybe that latter designation is unfair. First saw it in theaters during its original release!

I love this review, Bill. Thank you for posting it again. ❤️💜

Devastated. If I’m picking two, they’d be Quiz Show & A River Runs Through It. 😢

Been waiting for this. Thank you! Big bummer about the missteps. But I’ve loved this book forever, and nothing counts more than your recommendation. ❤️💜

Margot Robbie ALWAYS makes me pay attention. Then I spotted who wrote and directed this. HARD pass.

24 years of Walter Chaw, and I’ll never have enough. A platform without your presence is not worth maintaining! If Bluesky kick you off for good…I’d soon follow. We got you, Walt! ❤️💜

Walter is back it seems? Because I was ready to ditch this platform. With BC & WC active, I’ll extend my stay indefinitely. Oh—saw Weapons yesterday. Batshit crazy fantastic. ❤️💜

Sonofabitch! That sucks, Bill. Do you know for how long?

What your other commenters are saying, Jedidiah.

It’s so exceptional. I’ll probably end up reading it a half dozen times this summer.
