Incredible Hulk #5 features two completely forgettable stories. Both feel rushed and wordy, as if Stan and Jack really weren't on the same page with this one. Apparently the villain in the first story, Tyrannus, will show up again a few times.

But, you see, ants don't have greed or vanity...because they're ants. In much the same way that Hank Pym still doesn't have a personality. These Ant Man stories are still fun though.

Tales to Astonish #38 introduces Egghead to the Marvel Universe. He's hired by some criminals to take out Ant-Man, and plans to do so by appealing to the greed and vanity of ants, turning them against Dr Pym.

This was another fairly forgettable red peril story, but I do like that when Thor gets trapped (in "electronically treated" chains, whatever that means), he's able to escape when he reverts to being Don Blake. For all of Thor's strength, it was the "weak" human who was able to escape.

Journey into Mystery #87 - I might have missed it in previous issues but I just noticed that we have another pipe smoker here - Donald Blake! It seems weird now that not only are so many heroes smokers, but they're specifically pipe smokers.

I think you forgot the Clone Wars movie…

And with that I've completed page 1 of 1208 of my chronological Marvel reading list. FF is definitely the standout book, with Incredible Hulk being the weakest so far. We've got Amazing Spider-Man and the introduction of Iron Man to look forward to on page 2!

Anyway, this leads to a somewhat strange story in which Namor sets up a movie studio and pays the FF a million dollars to make a movie about them. It's an elaborate trap to try and get Sue to marry him, which fails, of course...but he still pays them.
