I’ve read a few books about Chernobyl. Not as scary I’m sure but the events and activities it led to are a remarkable story of human endeavour and resilience. In some respects like the Shackleton Endurance story (or The Wager
maritime) story. What humans can do when there is no other choice.

And IMO those who are most likely to moan when those situations are upon us are those who think climate change is fake and/or there is no point in the UK doing anything about it. That might rule IN all Reform and many Tory supporters.

And it does seem to mainly ‘guys’. Same for those kicking or talking nonsense about heat pumps or EVs. I can only assume it’s some sort of macho/ego thing.

I was saddened to hear a BBC weather presenter recently mention that ‘look out for some interesting sunrises tomorrow because of Canada wildfires’….but failed to mention it was pretty unpleasant pollution. I doubt most people watching would automatically recognise that aspect.
