Yeah. I'm guilty of this. The immigration issue is personal to me. My family is a mix of nationalities. Some of the language and reported proposals literally made me feel ill.

To be a bit pedantic. He got more votes but turnout was higher. Starmer got a higher percentage of those who voted.

There is no way the majority of the PLP would support the worst policies being reported. It would be suicide.

I hope it makes the point to the party. A lot of us go out and bat for them even when we know a lot of policy isn't perfect but necessary evil due to how the country has been left. But this is a fundamental part of the Labour party. Remembering these are people not saving a few quid here and there.

Tin hat - I feel sorry for Starmer. I think he's trying to do the right things but the relentless attacks, negativity and spin from a clearly organised international RW network have freaked him out. In normal times he'd be a good PM. Thus ain't normal.

As an IT geek this should be trivial. I don't like the idea of it. I'm not sure what legal framework allowed my grandparents here, but it sounds like they'd be sent home under this policy. (Sunk by Nazis, rescued by Royal Navy, joined Royal navy, stayed)

It's the language. The things they have done, by and large have been fair, just dial the language down. Although I am concerned about 20 years for permanency (but even this morning there was a hint you can earn it earlier)

There were a couple of Interesrung sounding good bits. But please fir the love of (insert deity here) stop taking as if all asylum seekers are bad until proven otherwise. These are people, not stats on a spreadsheet. The pre interview boatometer was disgusting.
