I just realized something very powerful about "favor composition over inheritance". The fact that you can't just cast an object to get what you want out of it is fantastically powerful. Not in enabling people, but preventing them from doing bad things. It's a very valuable limitation.

I think it's amazing that RIGHT NOW, at the height of the no kings movement, when more and more people are rising up against centralized power, that PBS is choosing to air a brand new documentary about the American revolution, which was about the exact same things!

I wonder if people understand that the other side of the "technology will make it so you won't have to work anymore" coin is that you will need super mega ultra socialism, because if you don't HAVE to work, then you CAN'T work, but you still need to eat and pay rent.

Looks like the cheap aocwei x800 tablet came factory installed with the badbox malware. Or so my isp tells me, anyway. I hope this shows up in someone's search results, so they don't have the same issue. I look forward to a day of changing all my password :(

Isn't Google shooting itself in the foot with these AI summaries? Google sells ads, and if people never click on them, or even scroll down to look at them, will companies pay for them?

I don't think I'm going to give anybody any reviews anymore. For example google only accepts positive reviews. Anything else is deleted. It makes reviews useless. How can you trust that something has 5 stars or whatever, if all negative reviews have been deleted?

All these pushes by governments around the world for backdoors into encryption make it clear that we need p2p messaging platforms. If it's just software, and no company involved, then there is no one who can comply with such requests. Software over services.
