We are right there with you or ahead. Big fan of the movie Broadcast News - the William Hurt character is a moron and unethical but great at reading the news. Here Albert Brooks accuses him of being the devil- he will lower our standards bit by bit. Style over substance.

Anyone in power has the opposite motivation - has been the case throughout history. Now with have power without any semblance of checks. And I get our system of checks is flawed.

If this country took action based on polls, we would be in deeper trouble than we already are.
Take action based on the the US Constitution and laws.
I grew up watching Carl Sagan - sadly we are here.

As a UVA alum, I’m afraid some of the “Unite the Right” guys who stormed the Lawn and UVA (founded by a guy named Thomas Jefferson) are still around. And it was reported head of the Proud Boys is now an ICE member.

They spent $100 million to recruit ICE agents from gun shows and UFC fights and used geofencing to do it.
They are not law enforcement. The head of Proud Boys now is an ICE agent.
And they are not trained - plenty of research out there on this.
