Comic collector, reader, and writer for fun. Fan of all things horror, and ninja turtles. In my down time I manage a restaurant and sometimes do things. Sometimes.
I love Nosferatu and I love Aaron Taylor Johnson's performance in it, but his accent reminds me of this Key & Peele skit; you absolutely cannot deny the local customs!

A couple of freeloaders.

This panel of Leap Frog is horrifying!

I also learned reading it is also the first appearance of Mike Murdock. That's not noted on CLZ as a key, it should be. I mean, it's also mentioned on the cover, but I too happen to be sometimes blind.

Today's find was Daredevil #25, 1967, first appearance of the Leap Frog!

I love silly characters like this. I think a good writer can take characters like this, show them respect, and find a niche to put them in a good modern story.

Though, I did enjoy him in the She-Hull show. But there's a way.

Daredevil #8, by artist Wally Wood, first appearance of Stiltman.

Stiltman has been such a cliche of a silly character, he's "the" silly character. But I think there's an untapped story potential of a character who messes with Daredevils senses to appear very tall.

It's not often, but if I had to recommend a comic book series or character for someone who has never read or can't seem to get into comic books, I'd 100% always recommend Hellboy.

Mike Mignola's writing and art style is simple, but impactful and meaningful.

I got home to my back door wide open. Cats are here. Nothing is missing. Comics are safe.

Chrono was alert.
Here, Shadow, was hiding.

I like to think they fought off the intruder and protected their home.

Growing up Darkhawk for sure! No idea why, just loved the design and the comics. But Hellboy deserves all the love!

It took me years to realize I'm a fan of art. It started with toy boxes, like original TMNT figures, then NES games like Zelda and Final Fantasy. Recently it was records.

I had to have the vinyl soundtrack to Tony Hawks Pro Skater. Looks dope too, that concrete color record.

Avengers 223. A UK copy. Always a cool cover to show off. It reminded me to go watch Captain America Civil War again.

Captain America 230. Not the best condition, got it for a couple bucks. Homage in a new poster for Captain America Brave New World.

Now reading Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol.

I read the first collection a few years back and finally collected the rest but I'm starting over from the first volume.

I'm loving it all over again. I guess I need to go back and finish the show too.

Me and Francois Chau from TMNT 2 and now the Penguin. Totally awesome person. I met him at this year's Memphis Comic Expo.

Punk rock mohawk Storm by Kyle Hotz. A warmup sketch i got last year at the Memphis Comic Expo.

Ororo Munroe is my favorite member of the X-Men and loved the punk look. It was at a previous MCX I wondered what her first appearance of having the mohawk, Uncanny X-Men 173 which I found there.

Uncanny X-Men 141. Writer Chris Claremont. Artist John Byrne. Released 1981.

This is a cover most fans recognize without ever seeing or reading the book. It's too iconic.

Read the plot synapsis and it feels like we're going to be living in the days of future past. Hope not. Read it.

Seeing the final 3 NOFX shows was surprisingly emotional. I don't think it's often bands that can go out on their own terms, and are so beloved by the community. Seeing the final Decline live filled me with so much love for the bands I've listened to for decades.

I'm happy I was there.

Spectacular Spider-Man 27

Release 1978
First time Frank Miller drew Daredevil; my favorite character. I say it often that he's an interesting character to be a vigilante, a lawyer, blind, Catholic, and respectfully a man-whore. Everything conflicts and mines the well for terrific stories.

Silver Surfer #3 1968.
Writer Stan Lee
Artist John Buscema

1st appearance of Mephisto.

A grail I've wanted for awhile now, acquired earlier this summer. I couldn't believe how realized Mephisto came out of the gate. He's perfect. More recent depictions have him too skinny I think.

I love it and the goddess Storm! But seriously, what an amazing issue that's not a #1 for a comic series (this following X-Men #1) and it introduces the world to Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Storm. It's worth all the pennies.

Oddity has been one of my favorite horror films this year. It's on Shudder now.

At a reasonable length, not too long, it paces quickly enough to get you through a bumpy rollercoaster of a film. Go into it with dimmed lights and little knowledge of the plot, like we should most films.

One of my cats is judging me. His name is Chrono. Named after one of my favorite RPGs of course.

Time to be more positive. I'm trying. Every single day. But beginning a new job this year certainly has helped.

For my 1st post these are 2 comics I acquired this year.

Daredevil 1 from 901 Comics.

Giant Size X-Men 1 from MCX.

I couldn't be happier to have the 1st appearances of two of my favorite characters; Daredevil and Ororo Munroe - Storm!

Do what makes you happy, as long as it keeps you alive.
