It's probably difficult to draw modern takes on fossil reptiles in this style. Part of the method here is pretending that we don't know much about their appearance or even their basic proportions.

Realised that I should have included this mural of Pliosaurus kevani for @dorsetmuseum.bsky.social, a species that Richard worked on and would talk about for hours given half a chance. He was so familiar with the specimen that he would, without hesitation, climb on its plinth at the museum!

They're both azhdarchoids with the left looking Sinopterus-like. The right looks to have a fabricated skull, prohibiting quick-fire identification.
