NYISO, the organization that manages NY’s electric power system, says they are analyzing the impacts and working with Ontario on this.
Based on data, imports from Ontario’s grid operator totaled ~4,000 gigawatt hours in 2023. Total energy usage across NY was ~150,000 gigawatt hours.
