Everyone deserves enough food, shelter, and clothing before anyone deserves a yacht.
My girls built tunnels through all the snow piles Mel and I have made shoveling over the last few days. Brought me joy watching them do it on their snow day.

I am now on their website. I have a phone app that tracks things like getting up, going to bed, reading each day, flossing, etc...but this gamifies it and makes it cute.

I'm suspicious of data harvesting as always, but I can always enter a bunch of fake info on their site. =D

Ok, this looks delightful...what is it?

This kid gets it.

I was all set to be snowed in when we moved to WNY, but then your snow plows actually...plow? Meanwhile in MI we tend to just drive on it till it gets packed enough you have traction.

I wonder what other societal problems we could solve with enough tax dollars, compassion, and cooperation?

I'm more angry at Danny now than CJ ever was. What a turd.

woah, woah, woah, what'd I miss?

I have wanted to see someone develop an ethically-trained AI that specifically seeks out open source images of writing and transcribes the written words to digital text.

Historians would go ape for that, huge win for knowledge and humanity, and trainable on open-source data.

Huh, I never really looked into it. Maybe if I ever empty my gaming backlog I'll see what I can add in.

I've almost started another Morrowind run now that Tamriel Rebuilt has hugely increased the size of the world, but there never seems to be enough time.

I've beaten it, but never modded it - am I missing a lot?

Independence Day...at least the White House is already 1/3 demolished?

Speaking as a Toby, we're delightful?

...or maybe we're just reliable, predictable, and witty enough to make up for the dark cloud hanging over our heads. Our passion for small irrelevancies also has its charm, I suppose.

(Mel will tell anyone that I'm actually Toby though, not Josh. Toby and I share an unshakeable faith in our fellow humans.)

Mel and I rewatched West Wing during each of Trump's first two presidential candidacies...got too real to go for the third.

But whenever I have a really big win I turn into Josh and demand the "finest muffins and bagels in all the land" or tell everyone that "I drink from the keg of glory."

Mel and I went down hard for a *week*. The girls seemed sick for a couple days and bounced, thankfully.

My inner child was placated by the expensive single-origin beans we buy from a local coffee shop put through the expensive grinder and espresso machine we bought for the purpose...but not today.

I was just thinking to myself:

"Self, after a week of the ^%@&%! Flu, you deserve all the fancy sweet stuff you never put in your coffee today."

Apparently I have an inner child who resents the fact that I usually drink black Americano, and they take control when I'm sick.

Oh man, it's not just me who doesn't feel like it's properly Christmas till some classically-trained folks belt it out? My kids are just starting to remember and try to sing along with it, which makes it even more emotionally dense, lol.

I'll be doing them late so I can sleep a bit, but Python in nvim is my jam these days. Good luck to all!

Man, I read these books for the first time in later elementary school - it was a *wild* ride.

You know, batteries are getting more and more unreliable these days. Sometimes they just inexplicably die all at the same time. They're weird like that.
