However you should acknowledge that it is specifically the scientists that have made us aware of what we are doing, ranging from Meadows in the 70s to Hansen now or @sci-ffert.bsky.social today. Precisely because of them, everyone today can, and must, know where we are at.

Complicity is inherent in our bourgeois lives. Thats true. Yet again this is similarly valid for all sections of this society. As a whole, we fail, in a morally reprehensible way - most specifically on the climate - ecocide thing, where we destroy the planet for our momentary convenience.

The climate scientists in particular are anything but 'silent'. I guess you know this. Of course they (we) arent any better than any other group of people. You claimed though that we were inherently bad for wanting to do our profession.

Thats true ! You compared though scientists wanting to do science to two year olds and morally deficient. Thats honestly a bit insulting. I am a scientist. Artists do art. Doctors treat people. They may also engage in activism, but their mere engagement in their professions is not deficient.

you cannot avoid this kind of complicity. Theres so much wrong in the world, you can never talk about it all and by your standard you cannot but become complicit in all that you dont highlight.
It is an impossible standard.

Witzigerweise sind 385DM von damals, bei einem gemittelten Inflationswert von 2 % ueber 44 Jahre, 920 DM heute. Die wurde zwar 1:2 umgetauscht aber die Preise haben sich damals eher 1:1 verhalten. Das was der Mensch heute entruestet ablehnt entspricht also etwa dem was Du damals bekamst.

Germany must take Europe seriously one of these days. Without it, it can not make sensible policy. German bourgeoisie still has not arrived in Europe yet. Its not just a market for D products. Germany must serve Europe, not other way around.

But they are not there because Russia created them.
We grew them ourselves.
It is important to face that, because to win against these parties, our societies must change. They are showing us that we cannot stay like we were.

Das haengt komplexer zusammen, fuerchte ich. Dass wir so durchsetzungsschwache Politiker zur gleichen Zeit in so vielen Kernlaendern des Westens haben, ist kaum ein Zufall (Und auch nicht Putin zu danken). D. h. Ja Sie haben Recht, aber das Fehlen dessen was Sie einfordern ist selbst bloss Symptom.

Thanks, yes, I hear that. So far, in my field (physical chemistry of industrial processes) its not really needed yet in that role, since our literature is pretty well organized.

When you say 'outranked by the US' but you treat Data Centers as separate country, then you have to subtract their part from the US consumption, so as not to doublecount it. Is the US (minus data centers) still bigger?
IOW, when is the data center consumption projected to be 50% of US consumption?

That suggests you use it as a kind of Lit search tool. I have heard that several times, and this seems to come out as something where ppl begin to agree on. A kind of Google Search that talks back (but hallucinates). That correct?

No. Apparently (according to latest news) the act was done from the personal relationships of the victim and not a political deed. That doesnt mean that AfD circles dont fund attacks, but not this one.

I'm a scientist (researcher is even in my function name) and i see so far no need to use AI. That means that what ppl now mean with AI, LLM generated language output. Actual AI, e. g. machine learning is in wide use and useful for trained specialists.

Am Ende wenn beide Seiten ueber einander lachen, geht man vielleicht ne Bratwurst essen, nicht in den Kulturkampf. (Bei uns kriegt man vegane Schnitzel und sowas. Ich habs noch nicht probiert)
