They're also responsible for one of the best emails I've ever received, when the college office sent out a plea for sightings of Professor Biscuit while conveniently forgetting to mention that he was a cat...(I won't comment on how often a similar email might have gone out about human Professors...)

Secondary problem: one of the controls is “wiggle the stick left and right rapidly”, and I physically can’t do that unless I rest the controller against something that allows me to reposition my hand.

I used to do freelance audio transcription and notetaking work and one of my clients had a very specific style guide… And also recommended Grammarly, which was fundamentally incompatible with a) the fact that transcription is SUPPOSED TO BE VERBATIM, and b) their style guide’s specifics.

Preferences: No overcomplicated Notion templates, but if we can EASILY set it up to make a new shopping list each Wednesday with a basic set of staples pre-filled, that would be good. Must be usable without significant ongoing management.

A related position: I think you should be allowed to unpack all the excess packaging from a product you buy and leave it in the supermarket. The fact of the matter is “Just buy less packaging” is not actually a solution when they don’t MAKE things with less packaging.

It should be easier for a person on a limited income to decide “I only need 4 packets this week” for a product rather than “Do I get a six-pack I can’t afford, or none because they don’t sell it loose?”

This is both a food waste thing AND a packaging waste thing. But it’s also an economic inequality thing.

The two-authority proposal is just bizarre and includes a part where they outright admit that it’s flawed and would need amending shortly after coming into being.

However, if Suffolk goes to three authorities, there is a strong argument for Norfolk also going to three to balance the composition of the N&SMCCA.
