Wouldn’t mind seeing Phil’s trade Castellanos to Royals in off season even if we have to eat salary. He is a lifelong royals fan and the hope is we can pry away a young catcher as they have an abundance of young catchers in there system. Thoughts?

Thanks this was a nice read. Still can’t believe Miller had nearly 60 steals. That is insane as I never k ew he has that kind of speed.

Clueless

Interested by day as Buehler also pitching today

Wow this umpire is garbage
August 27, 2025 at 12:54 AM
I totally overlooked his speed; that is such an asset!
August 23, 2025 at 12:53 AM
And 47 steals in 55 attempts is another great stat. I totally forgot about his speed. Players with this type of speed and to go along hit tools are rare in MLB. Do you see him as 30 30 potential in majors?

Love this article on the players we were linked to at trade deadline. None of them are tearing it up. We got Duran for what I felt was a high price but kept our major prospects other than Tait.

Let’s check in on the players the Phillies didn’t trade for at the 2025 Trade Deadline
Are there any early feelings of regret?

If he is on Mattingly’s radar that is good.
August 21, 2025 at 1:12 AM
I think it was Danyony Pulido; Mattingly was on a Phillies pre game a week or so back and when asked about promising players he mentioned Pulido

Luzardo has been a solid pickup. Yes he has had his ups and downs but feels like more ups than downs. Dave did well on this pickup don’t you think?
August 21, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Don’t know much about him what’s his ceiling? Mattingly was talking up another pitcher in Clearwater who was a starter last year and reliever this year; forgot his name unfortunately but was not Marquez.

Miller seems to have turned it around. I completely forgot about his speed u till I say 44 steals. Seems like a rare combination of speed and power. Excited about the future. Are you?
August 13, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Overall a good acquisition despite a few ups and downs
August 10, 2025 at 1:17 AM
Could he be say a Michael Bourne comp until he figures out the power?
August 9, 2025 at 2:19 AM
So it seems “fast track” not happening?
August 9, 2025 at 2:11 AM
Speaking of draft, have our picks been assigned yet?
August 8, 2025 at 4:46 PM
Does he have any chance? Feels like a Moniak…the entire draft feels like Moniak draft
August 8, 2025 at 4:45 PM
If that’s the case it feels like it can be fixed so surprised it has not as of now as he is not that young anymore
August 8, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Already 22, do you think he has a chance to pop?
August 5, 2025 at 1:00 AM
What would you have liked him to do? Painter for Kwan? That would have been awful. It’s not like anyone else jumped on Kwan or Robert. The Duran pick looks electric and we kept the big 3. Credit needs to be given when deserved.
August 5, 2025 at 12:58 AM
He was the big hope from that draft. Anyone else showing promise from what early results indicate an historically bad draft?
August 5, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Padres must have a great farm system. I am envious as if we had a stocked farm system like we did in Reuben era, I wouldn’t be as nervous trading our prospects. In the last few years, Preller has traded for

- Juan Soto
- Josh Hader
- Tanner Scott
- Jason Adam
- Mason Miller
- JP Sears

Just read Matt Gelb from The Athletic who stated Alex Call from Nationals is there target. Part time player can play all 3 outfields and can hit lefties. Robert still in play also.

So 2020 from what I recall was the COVID draft; seems like other than Abel was a total bust for us; did any good player come from that draft; shades of the Moniak draft?
