I see what you're saying & don't disagree, but what is your solution? We are a trading nation; changes to that are unrealistic. Isn't a sliding scale a reasonable answer? We trade more with countries with fewer violations & less with countries with more, then work to promote freedom for everyone.

Is this true? Can you provide receipts from mainstream media or other reputable source?

So, my point was only that PMMC was not a cons so wasn't leaving everyone else behind. He has Lib values. Whether he should get involved in prov politics is a separate issue. Of the 200 indigenous communities in BC, who should have been consulted for a hypothetical pipeline also another conversation

Refusing to work with ppl who have different ideas won't get us any closer to our goals. If PMMC were to hold to that, nothing would get done. He is a Lib so he is a capitalist, but he is not a cons because he is hanging onto key Trudeau programs. The universal healthcare debate is a separate issue.

The grocers where I live don't even try. Saw a Canadian flag next to a kraft product yesterday. Last time I looked, Kraft was an American company 🙄

Progressive values: sustainability - instead of divisive policies causing cons premiers to dig in their heels. He works with them toward better climate action. Social baseline security - he expanded dental care & school lunches. He is not cutting daycare or pharmacare. Building non-market housing...

😩 I'm in Ontario and I don't think he's great. I am in the minority, though, especially in my town.

I think you'll find, if you look, he stands by progressive values. He is correct that Trudeau climate policies wouldn't get us there; let's try something different. He is keeping our social programs. I am not happy with everything he is doing but I don't think he is behaving like a conservative.

I wonder if his tune would be different if Poilievre was PM... With a Maple Maga PM, he might feel free to let his true opinions out. He was plenty trumpy before Trump's 2nd term
December 28, 2025 at 5:47 PM
My neighbours said there's nothing they can do about Trump. They just left for Florida. People are very backward where I live 🙄

When pollsters convert vote intent into seat count you can see that no party would ever form a majority with PR. As long as there is fptp, ppl will vote strategically. If their vote could get their preferred party a seat at the table, they'd do that. More parties at the table = govern'g for more ppl
October 31, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Orrrr.... we could push for electoral reform.... seriously. What if parties mostly had to form coalitions to govern.... they would have to compromise almost every time. Could give us a more balanced government...

Why does everyone get called by their first name except Meghan? Also, I am pretty sure she changed her name when she got married...

Telling a department to spend less on paperclips is quite a bit different than telling them they no longer have funding & therefore are no more. My point is that there have been no announcements that programs will be cut, so everyone losing their minds about it are jumping the gun. Let's wait & see.
October 17, 2025 at 2:11 AM
My point is that we don't know yet. Let's not lose our minds over speculation; no cuts to benefits have actually been announced. What they have said is the school lunch program, CWELCC, pharma care, and the dental plan will all continue, even if they won't be expanded. The rest is schrodinger's $$$
October 17, 2025 at 1:55 AM
I'm sorry you are so angry. You have my goodwill, and I hope you do well.
October 16, 2025 at 2:30 PM
They asked departments to find ways to cut spending. This isn't necessarily cutting benefits. The only things I have heard them mention are ones they plan to keep. They may, in the end, cut some, which will be disappointing. They just haven't yet. Cutting spending in and of itself isn't a bad idea.
October 16, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Not sure how being snarky is an appropriate reaction, but 'finding efficiencies' isn't cutting benefits. Every mention I have heard is that they are keeping them. Also, if you were paying attention, you would know they haven't implemented anything 'yet', so you're jumping the gun with your outrage.

What benefits have the Liberal gov't cut?
October 16, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Or... it could mean that this is a part of an investigation, and he can't say. Things are rarely as black and white as people would have you think.
