Hey there, I'm a mineral collector and a furry. I graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in geology in 2023. My fursuit was finished that same year by Cave Creature Creations.
Happy Halloween, yappin' about rocks that I'll be passing out at Carolina Furfare. This is coal from Sharon, West Virginia, and it dates back to around 315 million years ago. At this time West Virginia was covered by an ancient swamp.

Here's a closer look at Henry the Sea Scorpion! Here I'm using a macro lens to showcase some of the more intricate details of this fossil. The high quality preservation allows for very subtle details of this prehistoric predator to be preserved.

Running through the anatomy of Henry The Sea Scorpion. Anatomy is a hugely important part of Paleontology, and understanding the anatomy of your fossils will tell you a lot about the animal that left it behind.

These Brachiopods would have lived in a shallow ocean that covered much of ancestral North America some 420 million years ago. Simple animals, they lived anchored to the ocean floor and fed in microorganisms drifting in the water column.

Here are some samples of Kyanite Schist from Wake County, North Carolina. Kyanite is a metamorphic mineral that is found in rocks that were altered at high temperatures and pressures. It most commonly occurs as clusters of blue blade-like crystals.

You can hear the plague in my voice, on antibiotics and hoping to be better by the weekend. This is a sample of Tourmaline from the Crabtree Emerald Mine, NC. Tourmaline is a mineral most commonly found as elongated black crystals in igneous rocks.

Pyromorphite from the Wheatley Mines in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This lead phosphate mineral is famous for its rich green, barrel shaped crystals.

Pyromorphite from the Wheatley Mines of Chester County, Pennsylvania. I received these as part of a large, early acquisition that included numerous mineral samples from some rather famous Pennsylvania mines.

Macrophotography of rubies from Chunky Gal Mountain in Clay County, NC. I collected these from an abandoned corundum prospect at the end of July.

My furry hot take is that Barq isn't really bad at all for meeting folks, some of y'all just suck at catching red flags and are afraid to be judgemental to a detrimental extent.

The homeschooling trend is gonna suck in like 5-10 years when all the unsocialized losers get abandoned by their parents whom they're completely dependent on.

Collected samples for CFF from the Balls Bluff Siltstone, part of the Bull Run Formation, which in itself is part of the Newark Supergroup. This formation is 202.5- 201.4 million years old, and outcrops along the Potomac River, in Virginia.

I get my coal straight from the source, no middle man bullshit, I refuse to pay someone else to extract fossil fuels, I will gather carbon emitting pollutants myself.

(Kanawha Formation- 312-320 Ma; Kanawha County, West Virginia)

Coal is taking over this feed until I get done processing all of these samples to pass out at CFF this year.

How many of these do you need to get before your legally considered a popufur?

If you receive less services without less taxes, your getting robbed by your government.

Fun fact: if you openly talk shit about folks wearing pup hoods in public spaces with the reasonable expectation of encountering minors, the sexually immature and socially inept MF's see you as a red flag and it reduces the chances of weirdos trying to hit on you.

Found this absolutely gorgeous sample of iridescent geothite in Orange County, North Carolina at an abandoned aggregate quarry.

Black Topaz crystals from the SK Star Claim #2 in Juab County, Utah. Black Topaz occurs when, by a currently poorly understood mechanism, Wolframite and other dark minerals are incorporated in large amounts into the crystal.

If the right can still complain about Obama and Clinton, then I think it's time for the left to bring back and double down on the Bush slander.
