Enjoyed handing out treats last night. Our street is not busy on Halloween, so we weren't standing by the door all evening. But not a single trick-or-treater rang the doorbell. Do kids not know about that?

I told the student's today's special relativity quiz was short. Turns out I looked at it too fast, and when it came to rest in their reference frame it was longer.

A police officer mistakenly believed I had honked my horn. He was grumpy and told me he’d make me wait a long time.
1. The long time was due to a long funeral procession, so of course I would wait anyway.
2. I can afford to shrug it off. But I know that lots of folks would be intimidated.
