CCHQ procedure for councillors is typically to suspend them for six months until everyone has forgotten what they did, then reinstate them.
Don’t think it matters what the offence is, tbh. An outsider can look at the censure and be none the wiser if it was for fraud, racism or murder.

That is true (certainly regarding religious festivals seen as 'Popish'), but scrubbing Anglican events from the calendar such as Michaelmas happened well after the Restoration.
