Always think of 1982 for the classic sci-fi/horror releases. Kind of forget there were other great films that year!

Masterpiece! I'm a La Dolce Vita man myself but it's a close number two 😊

Yi Yi has been on my list for ages but I never seem to be able to find the time for it. I really must. Glad you liked it a lot!

Amongst my friends the only person who got a younger age was a dad whose account was hijacked by his primary school age son!

Haha! I was the same. Ol' Blue Eyes and The King were in my top 5. 😄

Fabulous week! Every one a cracker in my book (I like Dreamgirls a bit more than you).
Is The Whole Bloody Affair just stitching both parts together with nothing added or removed?

We did Beasts Of The Southern Wild for my film club years ago and I had forgotten all about it, expect that I really liked it!

I'm not familiar with Advise and Consent but what a cast, especially Preminger favourite Gene Tierney. Will look out for it

Top class and I don't see anyone ever talking about this story. It is so good!

How does this work by the way? Do you have to add the countries manually or does Letterboxd work it out for you?

How was Sentimental Value?

The Long Good Friday is one of favourites. British classic and of course it has that famous last shot which is legendary!
I remember really liking Swimming Pool at the time but maybe it's a little bit silly now?

I liked that it reminded me how big and impact he made when he burst on the scene and what a massive star he was.
And I liked the interview footage of him from the time. They could have been more of that because he had things to say.
Let's hope he does have a late career renaissance

Tracy and Hepburn are a huge blind spot for me but I am surprised I didn't know anything about that Bergman film. Sounds great thanks!

WCKAC is insane - in a good way. Not surprised it's a film that rarely gets seen or mentioned but it shouldn't be forgotten. Loved it

Always great to see someone enjoy Return To Oz. What a weird film. Unthinkable that something like that would be made today that completely rejects the brand and challenges the audience

A clean sweep for me there - I've never heard of any of them! This is why I love these Fridays. I am getting educated. They are all going on the list thanks!

Looks like a good week. I loved The Beast. Haven't seen anything quite like it

Bravo! Never managed that much in my best year and this is most certainly not anywhere near my best.
Never heard of the Gary Oldman film but I'll check it out.
