What do you think is the reason that people outside Scotland should have a say. Do you believe the people of Scotland granted that at some point?
December 8, 2025 at 6:11 PM
That has never been the question, why should people from another country with 10x the population have a greater say than the people living there. Scotland doesn't want a say over England it wants self determination. The religious and monarchy based reasons for the union are done.

Fyi Scotland was in a Union with France longer than the UK.
I don't understand your point about majority of population. It was deliberate policy to depopulate Scotland, check the history books.

It is not that hard, plenty issues should require each one of the 4 members of the Union to get a say. Devolved parliaments should have equal status on their areas as Westminster. Population is not the only factor, land, water and ocean should be factored in as well.

It also fails at a local level.WM ignores Local Councils.Local Councils ignore parish/community councils. Central overrides many aspects of local e.g. planning.

Why did Scotland have no say in Brexit. The answer is because the UK is not an actual democracy. Scotland is a country, people who live here and pay tax here should have rights here. Why should anyone else?
December 7, 2025 at 8:37 AM
That pretty much sums up the English view, Scotland is just a territory. It was obtained through subterfuge, the Union was all just fraud. The Scottish view is we are a country that has had it's state replaced by another country. We exist as did most of the Empire to resource England.

The original point, reversing Brexit may make an economic difference. If Reform become the governing party that benefit will be short lived
December 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
That is a pretty infantile argument. It is obviously run by people in Westminster something Scotland, Wales and NI has little say over. Even when England is an outlier the other 3 get what England wants. That pretty much sums up the UK. It is not a democracy, it is an imitation democracy.
December 6, 2025 at 7:11 PM
People might feel differently if the Union was one of equals not just a pack of lies designed to keep Wales, NI and Scotland as minor colonies
December 6, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Just reversing Brexit is a continuation of a mistake, it doesn't fix the many actual problems.
December 6, 2025 at 7:04 PM
You are fine with England running everything though, aka the status quo?

Should be the FIFA award for corruption, a subject matter that they are true experts.
December 6, 2025 at 8:41 AM
The trouble is this is purely an English perspective. Scotland never wanted Brexit and the whole process was contempt for democracy. You just cannot sweep that under the table. If Scotland ever has another referendum the same Westminster scams and cons will get rolled out.
December 6, 2025 at 8:37 AM
It was disappointing that FIFA didn't do an award for corruption, it is an area they are real experts.

What we need to hear from the Tories is some serious apologies regarding the excess deaths caused by their utter incompetence during COVID

If you are hiring workers, hiring females gives a competitive advantage as misogynist companies have locked in their own disadvantage by ignoring 51% of the population

Until we have MPs who are working for the electorate and not for "think tanks" nothing will improve.

It isn't going to happen, a written constitution would highlight that England behaves like Trump to the other members of the UK.

The same party that wants digital ID is trying to destroy encryption.
Exactly how is the ID secured without encryption?

I wonder if here in Fife that means we get 5G or just more Zero-G
