Ugh, godawful AI Christmas cards for sale in our local post office. Putting artists out of work and destroying the environment for a cheap buck. The true meaning of Christmas…

Amazing idea! Coincidentally I’ve just rewatched this Parks and Rec episode…

Yeah, i was heavily influenced by Bendis’ style of writing in my first graphic novel The Absence. I also did my own lettering and letterer Martin was really pissed with writer Martin by the end!

Somehow she is hogging all of the cushions. Even yours, probably.

Just noticed that Lynch’s Wild at Heart is on Prime Video for the first time. It doesn’t get a lot of love but I think it’s my favourite Lynch film, and just about one of my favourite films period. No one has ever been cooler or hotter than Cage and Dern. If you’ve not seen it, do yourself a favour.

Absolutely LOVED this by @davidmbarnett.bsky.social. A really interesting and clever twist on folk horror tropes. Perfect for the autumn!

Shutterstock, I don't want to use AI and if you don't stop forcing it down my throat I'm going to start using a different photo library.

The new trailer for the movie The Astronaut looks good. It reminded me (I'd literally forgotten…) that a while back I wrote and drew a short comic called Building 27, about a quarantined astronaut. You can read it for free here: drive.google.com/open?id=1D6l...

I haven’t inked by hand for years, but I thought I’d give it a try in the new book I’m working on. I penciled in Procreate, printed it out in blue on A3 and now testing the inking with a brush pen. Quite like the chunky results but struggling with my old man eyesight and thumb arthritis a bit...

If you’re a fan of Longlegs, this earlier Osgood Perkins film, Gretel and Hansel, has just landed to stream on Amazon Video and I recommend checking it out. It’s a creepy little movie, with some stunning visuals.

Been reading this beast on holiday. Ed Brubaker and @seanphillips.bsky.social really know how to make excellent comics, don’t they. It’s an absolute classic. @iainkevanmorris.bsky.social, I know you enjoyed The Fade Out, have you tried this?

Pretty niche greetings card, even for you, Waitrose.

Visited the new Goodwood Art Foundation today. Rachel Whiteread has a bunch of her installations there. Buried amongst the ancient woodland, her giant, concrete casts of the negative space inside buildings work brilliantly.

Back in the 70s, before licensing and merchandising really took off, you had to get your gran to make your Spider-Man outfit for you.

God, I love this film. It’s a stone cold classic.

I love the book and I really like the DC Compact Editions but I cannot see how Arkham Asylum is going to work when it's reduced down to a smaller size and printed on matte paper. It's a dark, dark book with some hard to read dialogue in even the original larger format!

Finally signed up for a free month of Mubi so I could watch this docudrama thing. Ramshackle, playful, hilarious and compelling - just like the band, then.

Absolutely LOVED The Deviant by @jamesthefourth.bsky.social, @joshixson.bsky.social and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Gorgeous to look at with the perfect blend of ‘true’ crime horror and enough emotion to make it feel honest. Genuinely brilliant.

The McLaren Live event in Trafalgar Square was fun. It was absolutely packed, and as an old F1 fan myself it was really heartening to see how many youngsters - especially young woman like my daughter - are absolutely besotted with the sport. Man alive, they fuckin’ LOVE Lando Norris!

Took the day off work to check out the McLaren event in Trafalgar Square with my F1-mad daughter. I think I’ll be spending most of it in a mile-long queue!

It’s great! So many brilliant lines and performances in it. This guy made me laugh every time he was on screen.
