On my German postdoc the Mensa had “vegetarisch chilli con carne” one day. I stupidly asked if that should be chilli non carne and they looked at me like I was from Pluto

Don't think they have it. The next race listed on the On Demand app is Paris-Tours on Sunday and then the TdF route presentation 23rd October #couchpeloton

I have no idea but FWIW I'll guess next-gen sequencing with a second bet on Buchwald-Hartwig as a smoky #Chemsky #ChemNobel

Describe your Bluesky account in a single image.
A ginger cat lying on blue and white striped blanket is looking disapprovingly at the camera. The word really? is in bold white text

TIL that these little spiky bastards come from a plant that you can eat.
A page from the edible weeds handbook describing cobbler’s pegs. These little spiky bastards are well known to anyone who has ever gone walking through any sort of waste ground or a garden overgrown with weeds while wearing woollen socks. Or anyone with a floofy dog.

Pretty happy in terms of the #chemsky content. Sure there’s heaps less signal than #chemtwitter at its peak but also vastly less noise. And people don’t shout at me for my non-chem opinions and musical tastes so that’s pretty nice.

Growing up in Sydney in order to fit in I pretended to like League, but really football (soccer) was where my heart was, and what I played up until halfway through postgrad where I blew out my knee and also when thesis became more important.

Haha ~4000km across. But yes both due to politics and geography some states don't join in Daylight Savings Time. Queensland is always the butt of jokes because a referendum rejected DST in 1992. "It fades the curtains!!!" or "The cows won't know when to get milked!".

Does does the peak at -64.3/116 is from the 2J break through in an HMQC experiment more than what would be seen in an HSQC? I'm used to seeing residual 1J correlations breaking through in HMBCs but not reverse case.

Penultimate listicle? song.

29. A song that you remember from your childhood
(And in my mind probably the best guitar solo released in my lifetime)

🧬 Universal kidney transplant breakthrough

Scientists transplanted the first kidney converted to a 'universal' type O organ using an enzyme to remove type-A antigens. This could ease donor shortages and reduce wait times.
