Trump being against the Iraq war (which wasn’t true at the time) was taken as a marker of him being more peaceful than Clinton in 2016 when his problem with it was that USA didn’t take all the oil.

75%top marginal tax rates above, say, $10 million and treating capital gains the same as wage labor would go a long way toward fixing this. Might also redirect incredibly talented people back toward prosocial research and other activities.

Developing actual skills is great. I won’t say I’m creative or even a particularly good guitarist but every time I learn a new technique or song I’m stoked.

I looked at Greg’s thread and it’s actually nearly $0.5m less than the median! It’s just an extension of the old ‘people aren’t really poor because they have smart phones and flatscreen TVs’ as if any other kind is available. Written for people whose engagement of the world stopped in 1999.

There was a Scientific American article a couple of years ago about how cats are just the perfect design for predation in a way that only Monitor Lizards match. They both evolved a body shape that is ideal and scaled it up and down as the environment required
