Haven't we been down this path before? My local embraced later opening hours a few years back, then reverted to what they'd previously done, because most regulars didn't have the stomach/appetite for it. They would head home around 11.30 anyway.

There have been some silly ideas in county cricket over the years.
Heavy roller. No roller. Toss. No toss.
But this was the worst of them all.
It brought about the most desperately dull cricket.
Draw after draw.
Stupidly high scores on lifeless pitches.
