Counter argument: breakfast IS the most masculine meal of the day. Lunch is for weak men. Setting the table for dinner? Weakness. If it I eat dinner at all its alone in my kitchen shoveling handfuls of raw meat into my mouth over the sink. Like a man.

And the rest of the show was a blast. Never a dull moment in NYC 😅

I feel a tap on my shoulder from a viola bow (which happened to be my ex wife, but thats another story) and its a warning that I have to duck like *NOW!* And when I say that I missed that beam by a matter of inches, it was that close.

So I get situated in the pit as best i can, everyone is awesome and supportive. Anyway the show starts, Im bobbing Im weaving, Im making the changes. But I completely forget about lowering the scroll.

On the subway ride to midtown Im checking out the new numbers and some of the hard parts I completely forgot about. I get a text “the band car moves earlier in the show this year so you got to lower the scroll of the bass or its going to bang into a support beam”.

“don’t worry theres only 2 new songs since the show last year”. Im like ‘yehh piece of cake’ but in my head Im wondering if he remembers I havent played this show since 2021. I frantically pull up the score and practice as much as I can, then I run out the door in my tuxedo.
