Excellent review. As you say at the start, some Bob fans can be so ungrateful. It seems that in their case the ‘collector’ mania maybe sometimes takes over from actually appreciating the music

Saw them at B’ham Odeon in their brief hoodies, boxing boots and pony tails period, coinciding with Plan B. Then again at B’ham Hippodrome on the Come on Eileen tour. Lucky - but now old 😁 Seeing them in Dublin would have been cool

I guess being in Birmingham at the time has more than a bit to do with how much I love this album.

The first, and still their best - by some distance, imho

The ‘Rainy Day’ album is worth tracking down - unless you already have 😁

Very disappointed by that result. United clearly the better team and deserved to win. I will never say this again YNWA

Went there on a school trip when I was 14!

That is a great album. Western Sky is a favourite track - but they’re all good. I’ll admit though, that ‘Somewhere’ is a bit out of step with the rest

Great album that - others a bit uneven, except ‘Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?’ - love the track ‘Plains’ on that one

Impossible to choose, but here goes
1 The Band
2 Rubber Soul

He’s been around so long I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he wrote Greensleeves!

Saw Blondie supporting Television at the Birmingham Odeon in 1977. She hid behind the speakers for much of the set. This was frustrating on many levels 😁

I wish I had half the words Arne says he doesn’t have. So eloquent, poignant and true. RIP Diogo. YNWA

Mostly film soundtracks are one or two great pieces, and don’t stand up as full albums. On that basis though-
For a few dollars more
Chinatown
Cuckoo’s Nest
Once upon a time in the West
Midnight Cowboy

There’s more where these came from 😁

Well, they were on the Skerries, so, very possible, I’d have thought
