Playing guitar is so life affirming. And you can learn other skills like soldering as you decide to modify them. My 15yo loves playing guitar and even took an old one of mine and made it his own (before and after pics)

Of course my UK experience is living in London, so there may well be many dialect differences!

And ‘data’ is all about the first ‘a’. The UK is a as in ace. The USA is a as in that and Australia is an ‘ah’ sound.

Garage is such a funny word. The UK says Garridge. The US says Garahge with the stress on the second syllable and in Australia we say GArahge with the stress on the first. Other than ‘data’ I can’t think of too many words with such different pronunciations

I think my favourites are the ‘I never go to London, it’s terrible’ comments. Like, well done you! I only lived in London four years, 20 years ago, but am the child of Londoners and when can travel back to the UK and take my son, I’ll be sure to go one the new line.

I try to learn guitar solos every once in a while and there’ll be some kid half my age going through step by step and then saying something like ‘and then you just have to play this Phrygian descending lick’ and does it at a speed I can’t tell the notes apart.
