I would guess they’re just trying to avoid the behaviors that lead to an overwhelming quantity of applicants (like using automated scripts and people who hurriedly apply for everything and automatically skip over any point of friction).

I feel like he may have already shaken hands with every person in the district. Because he really does show up everywhere being informed but still curious.

The Blue Marble in Ft Thomas KY has a Great Green Room that’s much easier on the eyes.

Twenty-some years ago, my friend’s child died due to her husband doing just that. (He went to prison.)

My children get such a kick out of “the B41 bus is a pack animal” jokes though. What would those buses do if they were forced into something approaching even spacing?

When my beagle ate an entire diaper (just left the little side tabs), I walked her to the veterinary ER. So naturally to make me look maximally responsible, she scarfed some gutter pizza on the way.

I had plenty of kids who couldn’t deal with their own hair day-to-day. (My campers were typically 9-10.) Most weeks, we put on bathing suits, brought a speaker into the bathhouse and had a “shower party” to be sure that everyone experienced soap.

I was a camp counselor for many summers. It was not unusual for kids to have no idea where to begin when confronted with our showers. Lots of exclusive bath kids, etc. It’ll be fine. (We also got a lot who’d never fallen asleep without a TV or outside of a parent’s bed. All fine.)

There are very few novels my older kid has read more than once, but LOPE is one.

I just looked and our high school removed the FAQ item “where do […] students come from?” Which I guess was everything they had touting any sort of diversity in enrollment.

That’s so upsetting.

New York City also uses calendar year for when you start school. My April kid is often in the older group for the grade and the September one is kind of middle of the pack.

Did you read the book? I read it when I saw the first preview years ago. The source material didn’t inspire me to believe that the author necessarily regards his family as just as human as he is.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss. It’s so hard.

It is true that we cannot say “people in 11 states produced bodily waste that tested positive for h5.” It’s possible that flu from animals is getting into the sewers. But going from 14 sewer sheds in 1 state the week ending 11/2 to 60 in 11 states the week ending 12/7 is not good news.

There’s not much to be done if it’s the toe - maybe a couple weeks in a silly shoe (which you can just buy). If it’s actually the foot bone at the base of the toe, it’s probably still just the broken toe shoe and not a whole boot. I would give it 48 hours and see if you can get an outpatient xray.
