Americans have been conditioned to argue to maintain that inequality. It’s still part of the awful Puritanical thinking that was the main form of Christianity in too many of colones that we have not been able to get everyone to stop following, several centuries later.

We didn’t have Tower Records in my area. We had Hastings. My sister worked there a few years. Thanks to her I’ve heard songs that weren’t played on the radio in our part of Arkansas.

Falwell is also why they became anti-LGBTQ+, as well as Reagan and HIV/Aids.

Before Falwell, the anti-abortion movement was practically non-existent.

They follow the gospel according to Jerry Falwell. He's the one that started the big push against abortion. The Republicans needed to win over voters after Nixon, so they turned to Billy Graham, who sent them to Falwell. They needed something since segregation was no longer an option.
