This is what I don't understand the most. There's enough of them that they could have someone doing a visit every single day.

What a dumb comment. There's no age cut off 🙄. There are no men over 40 on the team because there are no men over 40 fast enough to win the races required to get on the team 🙄.

The real truth is probably that their trials weren't showing the results they needed to continue moving forward. It's just easier to publicly blame it on the mood in the U.S.

When I was on my local city council, we would have people posted at each voting location because they'd print and post the vote counts in the window after polls closed. So we knew the election day tallies sometimes hours before they were officially published...

Idk. "Free world" invokes other countries with democratic forms of govt. Honestly I wouldn't think about color when someone uses that phrase. Otoh, if they say "civilized world" or "first world," my first thought is that they are implying white people and are unintentionally or on purpose racist.
