My brother and I had a morning newspaper route on the Iron Range in the late 70s early 80s. Parents would drive us if it was -20 or below. Wind chill didn’t count. They drove us every day in January of 78 or 79.

I grew up in northern MN. It wasn’t until I went to college in NJ that I realized block heaters don’t come standard on cars.

I’ve always voted for him and would absolutely have continued to do so regardless, but I can’t say I ever found him particularly interesting as our Senator until the last year. Damn. Who knew?

“ Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage” and also “a good tactic is one your people enjoy.” Always felt these were arguably the best of the rules.
