I’ve spent the last week thinking I’d never heard a Clipse song only to be reminded that I’ve been singing one every time I’ve used my keys for the past 18 years
from "keys open doors":

"Open the Frigidaire, twenty-five to life in here/So much white you might think your holy Christ is near/Throw on your Louis V millionaires to kill the glare"
an inventive bar about selling crack? that's the clipse guarantee

Never thought I’d be wishing and hoping for the complete demise of a newspaper, but the Washington Post is making it easy
I literally felt sick to my stomach reading this

I could talk forever about this.
my point is that even though not every woman has had an abortion, she understands how unpredictable our bodies are and how under-researched women’s health is, and having even LESS control over our bodies than we already do isn’t an option

Reading Gretchen Whitmer’s (tiny) book and was a little blindsided by a reference to a very formative high school tragedy. The East Lansing effect strikes again, I guess.

Couldn’t agree more. Such a moving experience.
once again i'll say that if you ever get the chance to watch a naturalization ceremony you should take it

Proud of myself after meeting a guy today who teaches acting at a community theater and not asking him if he’s seen Waiting for Guffman (I don’t have any swimmin in my show!)

A real bummer about getting older is that more and more days carry the significance of people lost. I’m thinking a lot about @jeaninena.bsky.social and fam today, and at least I can say we should all be so lucky to have our lives celebrated in the way that Justin’s has been over the last 3 years 🖤

Late on this and haven’t followed economists closely since fleeing my PhD program, but wow, Claudia Goldin was overdue for the prize and makes me excited for the future of this field
Claudia Goldin: Nobel (and superstar)

In this Substack, I discuss some of her major contributions to Economics, including today's publication, "Why Women Won"

Hard to believe I saw Mitski at a 2,000 person venue last year, and now she’s easily selling out four nights at a venue twice as big. Love to see it!!
