Dissolving the governing board will make Arkansas Libraries ineligible for current programs like E-Rate.At the last AR State Library Board meeting, Rapert said out loud that the state library board’s inaction to restrict books in public libraries is a big part of why this bill is moving forward.

State Sen. Dan Sullivan, who successfully worked to defund the Jonesboro library, said Monday he plans to propose legislation that would abolish the boards overseeing the state library system and the Arkansas PBS network.

A state senator known for his ongoing battle against libraries plans to file a bill to do away with the State Library Board and the AETN Commission, which provides oversight to Arkansas PBS.
