I set up a #continuwuity (https://continuwuity.org/) un-federated matrix homeserver as a test to see if it could be a replacement for friend/family slacks and group chats.

Continuwuity itself seems good on features/stability/resource usage, but matrix clients are pretty rough, especially on […]

Watch out for that icy patch!

I didn’t get to a lot of classic Christmas movies this year, but I always make time for A Muppet Family Christmas. I recommend the full recording of the 1987 version, including commercials, to really set the scene […]

I have discovered exactly one (1) good feature in macOS 26 so far: Safari Web Apps will actually activate the Space they are in when ⌘-Tabbing to them or clicking their icon in the Dock. And I guess that's probably more of a bug fix than a feature.

Is it really a computer if it doesn’t have 12 different IP addresses? (Or I guess 14 if we add link-local IPv6 addresses…)

@overcastfm @marcoarment Overcast isn’t showing the strike through (``) in the show notes for ATP 660. I suspect Overcast is stripping attributes, so maybe the ATP CMS (or maybe just @caseyliss?) should be using the `` tag instead?

There seems to be a bug in #openssh 10.1 that manifests as a very unresponsive session, at least for me when running `ControlMaster auto` and connecting to a tmux session. Disabling ControlMaster seems to be a workaround for now

@siracusa @atpfm A good technical look at the new Apple “Dynamic Power Adapter”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYEqCgMnA8U

The new standard they're using is very close to an existing standard that lots of other adapters/devices use, the only real difference seems to be that it's written in to […]

After inventorying and testing my many (many) USB cables, I was surprised to learn that I only own three > USB 2.0 C-to-C cables, and I’m using two of them, and the third is only 5cm long.

Anyway, I now have a “40Gbps” rated cable, so my iPhone transfer tomorrow should be pretty speedy.

People who can adult: you have to dust.

Me: what, like annually?

Adults: no, more like weekly.
