In this paper, we present a conceptual framework for strengthening complementary feeding at scale adapted from the conceptual model of an enabling environment for breastfeeding, socioecological model of behavior change, and UNICEF's Action Framework.
Our aim for this paper was to identify lessons learned to guide the next generation of complementary feeding programs. Specifically, we aimed to fill gaps in current literature on the key attributes needed in programs to achieve large-scale results.

In this paper, we extracted steps and processes used by effective complementary feeding programs to fill gaps on ‘how’ to design and implement large-scale. This knowledge is needed to address the continued high levels of suboptimal diets and wasting in infants and young children.
