Fosscord was an apps name, though it had to be renamed

and Revolts is missing video, which spacebar is not

Revolt has Voice chat, same with spacebar, though the main spacebar instance doesn't have it enabled right now

Uh, Matrix is not discord API compatable, and Spacebar nor matrix require you to self host, both have public instances you can join. (though make sure to try to find the best client on both, spacebars official client is lacking in features)

Just checked, it's a package from 2023 that just runs the web client server, if you wanted to use that you can just use the online version dev.app.spacebar.chat or you can use Fermi fermi.chat (another spacebar client) you can join the spacebar discord server for more info :3

what are you talking about? both clients are web based? unless the tauri client is packaged, and in that case don't use it as it's an out of date version of the client with less progress

There's jank client which I maintain so I am biased here, but it has a lot more features, like editing, replying, dms, pins, pings, search. jank.booky.dev with a instance hosted here. (The CDN being down also effects this too, so pfps and messages with files won't load)

there is an official client, but most people don't use that one due to its lack of features, and the official instance of that is hosted here dev.app.spacebar.chat (feel free to try, though to note CDN is down due to issues) 1/2
