Here's another nerdy & numerical New Year countdown I came across! This time, for the upcoming 2026. Enjoy using this for the upcoming year! :3 #Mathematics #MathSky #MathChat #MathsChat #NewYearCountdown #NewYear2026

Personally, I'd take this with a slight grain of salt since Deadline also mistakenly hyped up an alleged Gravity Falls revival . . .

. . . citing an article from The Direct that couldn't even get the year the show ended right:

Since this year is going to end in about 5 weeks, here's a long division puzzle I recently came up with featuring the current year. Enjoy solving it! :) #math #maths #mathematics #MathChat #MathsChat #mathpuzzle #mathspuzzle #mathematics #longdivision #longdivisionpuzzle

As much as I hate what's going on the USA right now, I fear that spreading stuff from British satirical website NewsThump as if it were real news may be doing more harm than good. Here's a screenshot of the headline with the source listed and another screenshot from the source's About Us page

While I don't really buy into numerology, there is indeed a system for that. If you start at A = 49, B = 50, C = 51, and so on up to Z = 74 then the phrase "DONALD TRUMP" would coincidentally add up to 666.

Also, the final Z = 74 happened to match his age in 2020. Do with that info what you will

The first answer I saw was 65. However, I do admit that the other answer of 60 also makes sense and would make it much easier to find the general nth term :)

Came up with this definite integral a few days after looking at a Daily Integral website . . . hopefully, your calculus teacher won't put this in your exam! #MathSky #MathSky🧮 #MathForFun

I don't even bother with the New York Times opinions. It's not all that surprising that the exact same news network who published a swastika crossword on the first day of Hanukkah 2022 & tried to defend J. K. Rowling less than a week after a trans teen got murdered would end up praising Charlie Kirk

Just found another one . . . for real though, I feel bad for the members of his family who could end up affected too despite possibly knowing better than him #immigration #news #numerology #coincidence

That moment when you only noticed that July 24, 2025 was a Pythagorean Triple Day (7-24-25) a day too late . . . seems like I unfortunately may have to get my nerd card revoked *sigh* [I was focused on a relative of mine's birthday that day] #MathSky #Pythagoras #MathArt #MathChat #MathsChat

A spooky calculation I thought of 🧮

1. Choose four distinct single digits.
2. Form all three-digit numbers possible using three distinct digits from those you picked
3. Divide the sum of the three-digit numbers found by the sum of the four distinct digits.

You'll always get 666, but why? #MathSky

A numerological coincidence I found regarding recent events #Coldplay #numerology #coincidence #antimeme

Looked up the factors of 2581 and forgot to put "-ai", so I ended up stumbling across this wrong solution which immediately caught my attention since I knew that 31 times 51 equals 1581. Luckily, the mathematical webpages below it gave the correct factorization of 29 times 89. #MathSky #Numeracy

Also, Thanks To Them would turn 1000 days old on 11 July 2025 at 9 PM (UTC-04:00). Poor Luz really needed a hug 🫂

[Disclaimer: I don't use Disney+ due to boycotts & haven't liked Disney as a corporation for quite a while. I just wanted to talk about a cartoon fandom I'm in]

While I don't know a way to make 666 from his full name of "ELON REEVE MUSK", we could technically make 666 from just "ELON MUSK" via the random system below:

A = 96, B = 95, C = 94, and so on until Y = 72, and Z = 71

Also, Elon Musk just happens to be born during 1971. Do with that what you will.

Neat! Here's another Math Limerick . . . this one brought by yours truly! Enjoy! :)

The integral 2y dy
From 0 all the way to 9
Add 12 over 4
Then subtract 1 more
You will get the 23rd prime

As much as I'm a fan of Matt Parker, I can't help but note that he may be off by a week

14π years × 365.2425 days per year on average = 16064.204... days. And 16064 days after the birthdate listed on his Wikipedia article would actually be Dec 15th.

Still, thanks for inspiring us nerds, Matt! :)

While we're talking about NYT, they also released an Opinion article defending J. K. Rowling a few days after Brianna Ghey's death in 2023 and published a crossword which looked suspiciously like an anti-Semitic symbol in the beginning of Hanukkah 2022. So, this may be somewhat on brand for them

Update: Just realized I used the same image of the 2025 calendar twice by accident. Here's the actual comparison to show the difference in phases of the moon.

Yet you can still see that they're practically the same calendar otherwise! Also, as a bonus, we can reuse the calendar again in 2031.
November 23, 2024 at 9:38 AM
LIFE HACK for the upcoming year:
If you have a 2014 calendar, then you can reuse it instead of buying a 2025 calendar!

The only difference would be when phases of the moon occur

While the first three equations are correct, I have my doubts about the last part

¼ × π radians is ¼ × 180° = 45° meaning we'd have tan(45°) which actually equals 1 due to the isosceles right angled triangle. Math solvers are suggesting ⅙ π + π k (for integer values of k)
